Dr Bandile Mkhize, Chief Executive Officer

Dr Bandile Mkhize took up the position of CEO of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife on the 1 March 2008. He has a wide background as a successful administrator, having in-depth experience in tourism and planning.

Prior to taking the Ezemvelo position, Dr Mkhizewas the managing executive of the Kruger National Park, which under his leadership won serval awards for the "Best Park" in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces and a national award for the "Best Park" in 2007.

Prior to that, Dr Mkhize was the Director of Tourism for the Mpumalanga Province from 1995 to 1998, was the head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism in Mpumalanga Province and played a key role in tourism development. He has an impressive record in working with communities.

He has served on numerous boards, including the Council of the University of Zululand, KZN Innovation Centre, Intersite Property Management Services and Participative Development Initiative.

Dr Mkhize sits on the board of the Southern African Wildlife College.
