Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reseve
Established in 1895, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park is in the heart of Zululand and is one of the few reserves under formal conservation in KwaZulu-Natal and where the Big 5 live…the lion, rhino (black & white), elephant, buffalo and leopard.
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park covers some 96 000ha and encapsulates an immense diversity of fauna and flora in the region.

It is divided into 2 sections:
• Hluhluwe Game Reserve is in the northern section of Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
• iMfolozi Game Reserve is in the southern section of Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
Activities include picnics, self-drives, game drives on open 4x4 vehicles as well as self-guided walks.
Zululand is generally hot in summer and mild to cool in winter.

Set on an elevated bank, the lounge looks down into the palm-lined Hluhluwe River where a variety of animals, including elephant and rhino, gather to quench their thirst.
This self-catering lodge consists of 4 two-bed units with en-suite bathrooms that are linked by wooden walkways to the central lounge and dining area.
Guests needs are attended to by staff and a field ranger who, on request, takes visitors on walks through the African bush.

Mtwazi Lodge offers a magnificent setting under a large sycamore fig within its own secluded bushveld garden.
This 8-bed lodge comprises 3 bedrooms each with its own private bathroom and an annex bedroom with its own shower and WC.
It features a sumptuous lounge and dining area that leads out onto a large flagstone veranda.
Mtwazi is a self-catering facility and is serviced daily.
The services of a cook are provided. Guests also have the option of eating in the resort restaurant - Mpunyane Restaurant
MPUNYANE RESTAURANT – The Park Restaurant

The Mpunyane Restaurant offers breakfast buffet plus ala carte Monday to Sunday. Lunch is ala carte Monday to Sunday, and dinner is hot and cold buffet or traditional barbeque from Monday to Sunday.

This bush lodge overlooks the confluence of the Hluhluwe River and the Munyweneni Stream.
Set in park-like surroundings, it commands a splendid game viewing vista looking across a sea of Fenix reclinata, the reclining palm, to an ancient game trail that daily sees a large variety of animals moving back and forth between feeding areas and a safe river and drinking spot.
This self-catering lodge has an open plan lounge and dining area that adjoins 4 two-bed sleeping units with en-suite shower and WC.

Masinda Lodge is a luxurious self-catering private lodge offering three lavish en-suite bedrooms.
The décor is rich in African art and craft design, reflecting the artistry of the local Zulu people.

Elevated on a terrace overlooking the Black Mfolozi River, where crocodiles and hippos visit, and as you sip your early morning coffee or gather for sundowners in the evening, you can see a variety of animals make their way to drink cautiously from the edge of the river.
The lodge is situated in a well-grown stand of umThombothi trees in a park-like setting with the grass grazed short by the resident group of white rhino.
